Both Transmitter (handheld) and Receiver are battery operated with the Transmitter carrying two (2) AAA batteries and the Receiver carryiing three (3) AA batteries. The handheld REMOTE can be wall-mounted (see 6 and 7th pictures from left) in a case holder and easily removed to carry around with you. The Radio Frequency is 433.92 MHZ. BATTERY OPERATED 100%
Note that this REMOTE Thermostat is 100%Color> operated by AA and AAA batteries and does not require a wall wiring Color> to the Receiver. Most Remote thermostats require that you mount the Receiver into the wall and you run a hardwire from the rear of the stove/insert to the wall where the Receiver is located. Wall-mounted Receiver systems are not really fully Remote whereas our unit is fully remote, portable, and wireless.
USE With ANY STOVE or INSERT
Note that it will work with any stove/insert/furnace that can be controlled by a thermostat and is so-stated in the Operator's Manual.. Check your Operator's Manual and/or call your manufacturer. Thermostat connection terminals, in most cases, are mounted on the rear of the controller printed circut board, and if you check the back-side of it you should see them. Others just connect at the rear or side-rear of the stove. To make the Thermostat operational, different manuafactrers require different things such as: (1) Removing the little jumper module on the back-side of the printed circut board to make the thermostat terminals operational; or (2) Selecting a toggle switch on the front of the controller to automatic either ON/OFF or HIGH/LOW; or (3) Just connecting the thermostat lead terminals to the rear or side-rear; ... read your Operator's Manual or call the manufacturer. Or ask us as we may know. SUGGESTION: If you just purchased your stove/insert, we suggest running the stove at least a week or two WITHOUT the thermostat in order to get familiar with the stove operation before you hook the REMOTE themostat up to it. Learning the operation of both at the same time can be very complicated. We suggest doing this with any thermostat, whether remote or wall-mounted.
